Firstly, Friday afternoon we hiked at Fall Creek Unit, near Felton. It's a fairly untrampled place that we love to hike, and we haven't been there in much too long. We chose a route that was a little different from usual and ended up stumbling across some great things...
This here was an amazingly large madrone we saw:
Our path ended up having quite a bit of climb to it, which was a nice workout. Then we found an unmarked path that looked like it would lead us down along the creek and back to our usual hike out to the parking lot, which it thankfully did indeed do. It was steep and made our feet ache by the end, but it was even more untrampled than the usual paths, and led us to more great things...
We found a giant fairy ring:

Once we were back on our usual path down in the valley along the creek, Rob stopped me for a photo in the evening light:
So I made him get in a shot with me. Heheheheheh...

After our hike, we picked up awesome burritos from Taqueria Vallarta in Felton, then headed to the coast and ate our food whilst looking out on the ocean. Sadly, the sunset was lost behind cloud cover or marine layer, but it was a lovely dinner and drive home, nonetheless.
This afternoon, we headed up to the Los Altos Rod & Gun Club with our friend Chandra and his girlfriend, Gina. Even with a cast on his hand, Rob was able to plink away with his rifle on the 50 yard and 100 yard ranges.

This was my last shot, which did hit its target. Yay!
Whether I did well or not, I had a good time. Sending the pigeons out for the shooter was quite fun in and of itself, so I had a good time there after I took my turn behind the shotgun. From there, we all went and shot water-filled aluminum cans at the 100 yard range.
Tomorrow we'll just stay home and take care of stuff, which is a nice day in its own right.
